During the first weekend of September, the village center of Eke becomes the setting for a two-day outdoor circus and street art festival. The festival is free.
As every year, there is a lot to experience: international street theater with fixed and mobile acts, live music, a funfair, an art and craft market, activities for children and even a silent disco!
The many food trucks, cafes and even a real wine bar ensure that your taste buds will also be pampered.
Art & Craft Market
As if that were not enough, you can also browse the accompanying art and craft market. From unique paintings to handmade jewelry: you will find everything to give your home (or yourself) a cheerful makeover. It's the perfect place to score a souvenir while supporting a local creative.

There is also a photo exhibition with selected images from the photo contest "60 years of fraternisation in Eke in pictures", organised by the Verbroederingscomité Eke.
Accessible for everyone
Brouwsels op Straat (BoS) wants to be a festival where everyone feels welcome. For the organisation, accessibility means more than just adapted facilities. Despite rising costs, admission remains completely free. "Artists must be paid fairly and everything is becoming more expensive," says Danny Claeys on behalf of BoS in Het Nieuwsblad. "Yet we want to keep Brouwsels op Straat free for everyone. That has always been our philosophy."
1. Easily accessible festival grounds
All squares are easily accessible for wheelchair users. Each site also has a site coordinator who is happy to help visitors with questions or practical support.
2. Adapted facilities
Toilets for people with disabilities are available at Zaal Nova, the Vrije Basisschool, in the Brouwerij, and an adapted toilet wagon near Sint Cecilia.
3. Transport for residents of care institutions
On Sunday afternoon, transport is provided for residents of care institutions in Nazareth-De Pinte to residential care centre De Lichtervelde, so that they too can fully participate in the festivities.
4. Low-stimulus room
Those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the fair for a while can visit the low-stimulus room where the Verbroederingscomité exhibition is also on display.
5. Stories without Age: connecting generations
With Stories without Age, an initiative of the Sint-Ceciliaband and Vriendenkring Eke, we bring young and old together. During a creative workshop at residential care centre De Lichtervelde, young people and residents of various care institutions work together on a creative project under the guidance of artist Alina Pralina. This way we stimulate encounters between generations, strengthen social bonds and contribute to a warm and inclusive community.
